I fully support this donor forum. there should be some incentive for members who donate. they are not doing it because they have lots of money to spare, but they sacrifice because they believe in this cause. I don't think $25 is going to break anyone's bank. Just sacrifice something that you consume/enjoy every week, and donate that.
It's a pity that even with about 25K members, we cannot raise a minimal amount. People need to realize they cannot simply enjoy the benefits of someone else's labor.

Dear Nitinboston,
I am in 100% agreement with you on the notion that Congress probably doesnt care about people who are not voters/citizens etc. But let me quote you an example from history. I am making an extra effort to be optimistic here, but in saying that, nothing can be done will not lead us anywhere either. If we try, then we can atleast go to bed in peace thinking we tried! Here is the example though:
Blacks in this country did not have any voting rights before 1965. In order to be a registered voter they had be recommended by a white person and go through an exam. they practically had no rights. no status. nothing! I am talking about Alabama in early 50s when blacks were not even allowed to board buses from the front door. The bus driver had the right to pull out a gun if a black person did not give up his/her seat. Rosa parks ignited the Montogomery bus boycott in 1955 December and that lasted for more than a year. The result was that blacks came together and held together persistently till people in higher ranks noticed it. It wasnt easy, black leaders were bombed, harrassed and threatened for doing so. In 1964 the civil rights act came about and 1965 voters right act. And today we have a black president. Unbelievable transition from a time when even the drinking water fountains were seperate for whites and blacks.
This is just an example but what I am really trying to get to is that the Government today is much different than it was several years ago. If they could make the congress hear at that time, why cant we.
It wouldnt be wrong to say that this country still is the most tolerant country in the world. Compare this to Australia or New Zealand or Canada.
People in the government will listen if the cause is right. Its just a matter of making enough noise in a decent manner that people hear.

I am in EB2 with a US Master's degree. My priority date is April 2006 and my case is not approved. Many of friends same boat as me are not approved.

The bill being discussed in the senate if passed is going to be very detrimental to people that are stuck in the labor backlog centers. They wil be forced to redo their labor with the new point based system. That is not fair at all.

Shan - I totally understand your frustration and where you are coming from. I had the same level of aggression when i first started participated in IV activities and I am sure, a lot of people want to pursue things in an aggressive manner.
But lets calm down for a minute.
The OP initially contacted IV after googling up and came across our threads and I spoke to him. He was frustrated with opening two MTRs and was looking into mandamus.
I requested him to do the following - exhaust all adminisrative procedures first. Contact Ombudsman, Senators, Congressman, try all options.
See - these kind of decisions are not easy and not not everyone understands this stuff.
Once you go to court, it may take a couple of hearings and you will also have the other side arguing their cause.
We must always remember that - we are in a civilised nation and people on the other side are willing to listen and try to resolve stuff in the best way possible
- Lobbying, awareness etc.. are basic principles of IV .
we are not here to teach someone a lesson or fight with someone - we are here because we want our issues resolved and we must work in the best possible way.
Nevertheless - one must know how litigation also works in case that is the only option.
I request people to please share their ideas and thoughts on how to tackle such issues.
Let frustration not dictate your views. I understand that we all want issues to be resolved and get really aggressive on these forums - but lets just relax and think and see what is the best possible solution.

No. it was talk about validating employment for legal immigrants at the workplace. I-9 etc... They just worded it as "Employment authorization"

Just called Scott Brown and Senator Greg. The person who picked up the phone in Scott Brown offcie noted my name and address. He said he will give my message to the Senator. The lady in Judd Gregg office said that Senator has not yet decided on the immigration proposal but she said the Senator appreciates the call. She did not ask my details but said that the Senator has supported immigration bills in the past. They both sounded very positive.

Who the hell gave you the right to twist my statement and personally attacking me as "anti immigrant" ?? Where i have said that reversal of 20 K GC will help us ??
My simple point is the whole USCIS process is broken and that needs to be improved and rationalized . Now you/me/an immigrant can't initiate that process. The push has to come from influential CITIZENS who we call Senators , Congress Man/Women, House Representatives and so on so forth.
For them to take a step they need push from american peoples. You know why CIR has failed - the senator phone lines were jammed , Talk radio was blasting Bush , Kennedy for doing behind the door deals.. that's why...
Your/my opinion never stalled CIR - its american citizens who stalled it.
Unless citizens see a good reason to overhaul USCIS process where the push would come from ??
You want them to be accountable for the fast approval of the GC in June/July which means they need to revert the decision and give visas back.

I'm not getting what's your point. All I am telling this guy and others that I need some statistics and why it is important to me. People who like my point will write them and people who will not like my point but still have the problem will modify the letter accordingly and people who should not care since they are not affected should just ignore this thread and move....
