found answer on Ron Gotcher's website: ONE CAN CONTUNUE WORKING ON EAD (http://immigration-information.com/forums/showpost.php?p=25197&postcount=3) according to this post.
This contradicts with the fact that many reported on IV. Ron says that one can continue employment on EAD. EAD stays valid atleast till the legally allowed time to file for an appeal, and once you file appeal, it stays active till it adjudicated.
However many ppl reported that they had to leave job due to 485 revocation. What is the truth???? Any one?

I agree to gc28262. Back in 90s when outsourcing started, major Indian IT companies used to have a 50-50 onsite/offshoe component (for large clients/projects). This has now come down to 10-90 onsite/offshore because clients are getting the same level of service.
For example, it was once believed that DBAs must be located at client site. Now, we often see DBA support provided from India.
This causes too much load on the onsite person but who cares as long as there is a steady supply. The bill will simply change the model to 5-95 . Out of these 5 positions cut-down , 4 might be H1 but at least 1 is a citizen/LPR whose job will be eliminated. Along with that will go the number of services these 4 H1s were using in US and the amount they were contributing to US economy.
USCs who think this bill will create more jobs for Americans are living in a fools world.

The represintitve said they recieved couple of calls. I explained my view and how as an RN i'm effected by this. The office said that sentor Cantwell has not issue a statement. I spoke of USCIS, financail and emotional loss. I did say that hunder of thousands are effected and according to WSJ million of dollars has been lost.
The representitve seems intrested. She transferred me to Olia black voice mail that seems to be taking care of this issue and i left a message for with my contact information.
More people need to call and get thier stories through. After all Cantwell was supportive of skilled workers. So far senators office are responding with interest to personal stories and the effect of the USCIS VB.

You make it sound like they care about you and are doing this slowly to get everybody on board, sorry to burst the bubble but chances are they were able to apply the right pressure at the right places and get this passed.
Fashion models and Sport personnel and EB-5 folks are few in numbers and will go unnoticed by their constituents. Other EB categories are comparatively huge. So I suppose that congress is treading carefully. If the bills does not go though the subcommittee and full ones, opponents will debate that the bill was sneaked in or piggy backed or pushed through. Hopefully something will emerge before the presidential elections. Lets not loose hope and try our best. Anything after the elections will be bound to be bogged down by CIR...

I believe this is amendment to reconcillation bill between the house and sentate bill.
Sorry, I'm still confused, but it is entirely possible its my misunderstanding of American Senate and House of Representatives proceedings. How does a Senator add an amendment to a House of Representative bill?
Are we talking about 240,000 greencards to recapture or 2,400,000?

I have a question about a unique situation of getting stuck in BEC and applying 485 with a newer PERM case. If LC is stuck in BEC at this time, but the person has a new PERM+140 from a different location and applies 485. Can this person change the priority date of 485 when the old LC from BEC gets approved, and 140 approved, to the BEC PD?

Other than the visa recapture, I guess at this point there isn't a whole lot we can do. I guess when we applied for GC we basically pawned our life to USCIS.
It is kind of sad that when they had visa available they weren't able to approve the cases before April '03. Pathetic!!
Enough of venting.... hopefully things might work out for the better this year!

It is good to see, more and more people (EB3 with older PD's ) switch to EB2 or higher, though the total percentage is small, it is still a significant help for EB3 (C & I). On average each EB Applicant consumes 2-3 Visas. One primary applicant switch means, at least 2 -3 visas freed in EB3 for this category. If qualified for EB2, this is a good move looking at the way EB3 dates are moving.

I noticed soft LUD on 485s last week for me and my wife...not sure what that means..
A soft LUD today 03/04 on my/wife's I-485 application.
I see lot of cases of EB2-I with PDs of 2005/06 and EB3- I with PDs 2003/04 have recentely received LUDs/RFEs.
Let's wait what next visa bulletin says !
